Celebrate Science had a booth at the Indiana Pacers STEM Fest 2023 on Saturday March 18 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis.
Over the 3 hours of the STEM Fest, we had 183 kids and young adults stop by our booth to make some Goofy Putty/slime.
While making their Goofy Putty, they learned about how the liquid mixture of washable school glue (polyvinyl acetate), water and coloring changed after the addition of the activator (concentrated borax solution) initially into a sticky slime and finally into a Goof Putty. Some of them added instant snow polymer (sodium polyacrylate) to the initial liquid mixture which made a Cloud Putty after the activator was added.
