School, Outreach and Virtual Programs: https://www.indianamuseum.org/themed-programs/
DISCOVER: Engage your PreK through grade 12 students with free, downloadable resources including exhibit content, historic site correlations, learning guides, literature connections, community resources and website links, all aligned with Indiana Academic Standards. https://www.indianamuseum.org/educator-resources/
CONNECT: We know field trips are tough to plan these days. Instead, connect with one of our many state historic sites or the Indiana State Museum through a free, 30-minute live virtual broadcast. Through pre-recorded videos and/or photos of exhibits, artifacts or outdoor spaces, a staff member will present and highlight key components from their location. These programs align with Indiana Academic Standards. https://www.indianamuseum.org/virtual-school-programs-connect/
EXPLORE: Take learning to the next level and explore our sites through an interactive 1-hour video call with an Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites educator and digital resources to inspire learning before, during, and after the visit. Programs include an educator guide and classroom resources for hands-on learning in your classroom or at home. Each program is designed for a classroom of 25-30 students and aligned to Indiana Academic Standards. https://www.indianamuseum.org/virtual-school-programs-explore/
SHARE: Join us for a 90-minute hands-on and interactive professional development session, either virtually or in-person in small groups. You’ll receive a kit of supplies before the session so you are fully immersed in the activities and topics being explored. https://www.indianamuseum.org/virtual-school-programs-share/
Scholarships: Schools with 40% or more students eligible for free or reduced-price lunches may qualify for one of Indiana State Museum’s many science-based school programs for free.
Indiana State Museum Education Program Scholarships have been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Indiana Academy of Science (IAS) and the Arts Council of Indianapolis. Each scholarship fund has different requirements. Staff will review applications and apply the appropriate funds for each approved scholarship program. Please complete this form at least two weeks prior to your visit. You will be notified whether your application is approved or placed on a waitlist.
Click here to submit application. Please contact Krystle Mangan, program and schedule manager, at 317.509.7679 or kmangan@indianamuseum.org to request an application.
